You KNOW it is linear. What are the variables? What is the degree of each variable?

If you are beginning at learning these kinds of equations and intend to graph them, make a table for x and y values. Pick some x values and find the corresponding y values. Plot the points, (x,y). Connect the points using a straight edge tool.

    Pick x      Find y=3-x
      -4         7
      -2         5
       0         3
       1        ( )
       3        ( )
       5        -2

how do you graph x+y=3, And how do u know if its linear or not?
-----------
It's linear because all exponents are 1.
----
x+y=3
It's a straight line, so you need 2 points.
---
Let x = 0, solve for y --> (0,y)
Let y = 0, solve for x --> (x,0)
---
Plot the 2 points.
Draw a line thru them.
