Question 1047001: A line is parallel to y=1/2x+6 and passes through (-8,0). Which equation is the equation of the line?

the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line is
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y=(1/2)x+6 m = 1/2
The Line parallel to this will also have m= 1/2
***Using point-slope form,
P(-8,0)
y-0 = 1/2(x+8)
y = (1/2)x + 4
