Question 1040607: Question 1040606: I'm using barron's e-z pre-algebra. page 170 they have a slope/ y-intercept function: 2y=10x-8. I have to get the y alone. However, their answer is y=-2x+5.
For the life of me, I can't figure how to come to that answer. Is this just a mistake in the book? Or can you help me to see this answer?
P.S. how do I access the "thank you form"?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Check the problem and the answer very carefully, as often one looks at the wrong answer by mistake.
IF the function is 2y=10x-8, dividing by 2, the slope-intercept form is y=5x-4. It can be nothing else.
Thank you very much. It's the second error I've found. Not bad Counting the volume of material.

Maybe if you made a mistake copying the given equation. Otherwise,....
