4x-7y=3
y=3-2x
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When you say just solve, I'm not sure which way. There are different ways to solve an equation. I will go ahead and solve by substitution, if you do not think it is the right way, let me know.
Solve:
4x-7y=3
y=3-2x
We will substitute in the first equation the y=3-2x for your y;
4x-7(3-2x)=3
4x-21+14x=3
collect like terms and add 21 to each side;
18x=3+21
18x=24
divide both sides by 18;
Now we will plug that answer in the equation for x(you can choose either equation);
check;
3=3
