Question 1027257: given that (-3,-5) and (-1,-4) are points on the same line find a point-slope form of the equation for this line, I have found the slope which is 1/2 I'm not sure how to write the equation in point-slope form for the answer

Point-slope form comes directly from the definition of slope for two points.

m for slope, known point on a line may be (h,k). Any unknown point on the line is (x,y). Slope means, vertical change divided by horizontal change.

--------the point-slope form, very generalized, for a line for any slope m and known point (h,k) on the line.

You correctly (assumed) found the slope of ; and you are given two points of the line. Use EITHER of the points and the found slope for form the equation of the line.

Your calculation of the slope is correct. Good job!
Point-slope form:
Now, substitute any of the 2 points for: , the slope (m), and you will have what you need
