5 3/5 + 2 8/9
5 3/5 = 28/5
2 8/9 = 26/9
28/5 + 26/9
Multiply 9 and 5 to get a denominator.
then cross multiply
(9 x 28 + 5 x 26)/45
(252 + 130) /45
=382/45 = 8 22/45
