Question 1021900: What is the linear equation of the line that passes through the following points -6,-2 and 6,2

Couple of ways to do this...we could use the two-point form, but most times students are taught to find the slope first...
slope m = (-2 - 2)/(-6 - 6) = -4/-12 = 1/3
Then apply y = mx + b so that, using the second point...
2 = (1/3)(6) + b
b = 0 so that
y = (1/3)x is the line you want...
