You know you want a form, y=mx+b, and you will start with something like y-k=m(x-h); this will only require a small number of algebra steps.

Slope intercept form in general is . Point slope form in general is given the slope m and a point (x_1, y_1). You'll want to distribute the slope m.


Isolate the y term by adding y_1 to both sides.

. And we're done. You can convert backwards by doing the steps backwards, but inverting the operations.
