Hi there,
chemany is thrice as old as cj
C = 3CJ
ten years from now the sum of
their ages will be 28.
C + 10 + CJ + 10 = 28
Replace C with 3CJ from top equation.
3CJ + 10 + CJ + 10 = 28
Collect like terms:
3CJ + CJ = 28 - 10 - 10
4CJ = 8
CJ = 2
....................
CJ is currently 2 years old
Chemany is currently 6 years old.
