Write the equation of the line with x-intercept (12,0)and y-intercept (0,4).

The equation of a line can be written in slope-intercept form, y=mx+b, where "m" is the slope and "b" is the y-intercept of (0,4). Since you are given the y-intercept, all you need is the slope, which is m=(RISE)/(RUN).
In this case,m=(4-0)/(0-12)=4/-12=-1/3 .
The equation of the line is therefore: y=(-1/3)x+4.
