Question 995604: Point A (1,-2) and B (5,16) are the endpoint of segment AB. What are the coordinates of Point C on segment AB such that AC is 2/3 the length of AB from B?

2/3 the length of AB from B means the point is closer to A. Take 1/3 the distance of each x and y and add to that of A or 2/3 and subtract from B.
between 1 and 5, the distance is 4, and 1/3 is 4/3, so the point's x-value is 7/3
between -2 and 16, the distance is 18 and 1/3 of that is 6, so the y-value is 4
The point is (7/3,4)
