Make the body = 'x'
Body = Head + Tail
x = 8 + (8 + x/3)
x = 16 + x/3
Using a common denominator of 3
(3x = 48 + x)/3
Collect like terms of numerator
3x - x = 48
2x = 48
x = 24
Head = 8cm
Body = 24cm
Tail = 8 + 24/3 = 16cm
Length of dinosaur = 48cm in total.
