Answer by kamallohia(18)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If points A,B, and C lie on a coordinate line and points A and B have coordinates 15 and 7 respectively, then which of the possible coordinates for point C satisfy(ies) d(A,C) Here goes the solution.
Let x be the co-ordinate of point C then d(AC)=x-15,
and d(BC)=x-7 if x>7,15
then as given, (x-15)>(x-7)=> which can't be true for x>15
So let's assume 7 hence (15-x)<(x-7) => 2x>22 => x>11.
Now if x<7,15
then, (15-x)<(7-X) => which can't be true for x<7
Hence solution set is 11>x>15.
Hope this is clear.
