um please clarify as there are many distances LINE L goes indefinitly in both directions...without a point for a line drwn from P to a point on LINE L it will be impossible to determine the correct distance. a line is not a circle where the radius would have the same distance...could be 8 or 50000076921 in distance...its not solvable as provided...goodluck.
