Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Length = x Width = x - 6
Area = x(x - 6) = x^2 - 6x
x^2 - 6x = 112
x^2 - 6x - 112 = 0
(x - 14)(x + 8) = 0
x = 14 (x = -8 no answer)
Therefore Length = 14cm
and Width = 8 cm
Area = l x w = 112 cm^2
