Question 624953: Keri's Saturday morning jog follows a triangular path. Two legs of the path are equal, and the third leg is 4 miles shorter than each of the other legs. If the total path is 14 miles long find the length of the third leg of the triangular path.
Answer by jankiz(13)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, you draw a triangle. Then you lable each equal leg x and the third leg x-4. Then you combine the x's. So, x+x+x-4=14. Then solve for x. 3x=18. So, x is 6. Then, you put 6 pack in to the triangle. So, the third leg equals 2, because 6-4!
