Find the coordinates of the point that lies one fourth of the way from (-10, -2) to ( -12, -6)
(x,y) coordinates of midpoint:
(x1+x2)/2,(y1+y2)/2
=(-10-12)/2, (-2-6)/2
=-22/2,-8/2
=(-11,-4)
1/4 the way from (-10, -2) to ( -12, -6) is the midpoint between (-11,-4) just found and given point
(-10,-2)
(x,y) coordinates 1/4 of the way: (-11-10)/2, (-4-2)/2
=-21/2,-6/2
=(-10.5,-3)
