If one cubic foot costs $0.2, how much money do you need to sepnd for the mulch? There are four beds. two beds are 2' x 25' one bed is 4' x 25' and last bed is a circle that says 15' diameter.Could you please show step by step procedure for problem. Thank you. Janet

Pine mulch 0.5ft deep is spread in each of the flower beds.
Mulch is sold by the cubic foot.
To the nearest cubic foot how much mulch must be purchased.
If one cubic foot costs $0.2, how much money do you need to sepnd for the mulch?
There are four beds.
two beds are 2' x 25' one bed is 4' x 25' and last bed is a circle that says 15' diameter.
:
Find the vol of each type of bed
:
2*25*.5 = 25 * 2 = 50 cubic/ft (there are two of them)
:
4*25*.5 = 50 cu/ft (one of these)
:
The circle 15' diameter
7.5 ft would be the radius, find the volume of a cylinder:
= 88.357 cu/ft (one of these)
:
Add the volumes up 50 + 50 + 88.357 = 188.357 cu/ft total
:
Find the cost. 188.357 * .20 = $37.67 is the cost for the 4 beds
