That depends. If the points K, L, and M are collinear and L is between K and M, then the measure of KL plus the measure of LM is equal to the measure of KM. Just set the sum of the first two expressions equal to the third and solve for
. If they are in some other order, then it is the two short pieces add up to the long piece. If they are not collinear, you don't have enough information to solve the problem.
