yes there is and it involves trig.
The angle between the post and the ground is 90 degrees. We know that the distance between the two posts is 8 feet. We also know that from the of one post to bottom of second post is at a 35 degree angle. So we know the opposite side from the angle is 8 feet long and we are trying to find the hypotinues of the triangle. So we need to use sine here, and the equation we need is:
sin 35 = 8/x
I will leave you to solve for x but you will get an answer of 13.947 ft.
