Segments are
E (1,4)
F (5,6)
s^2 = diffy^2 + diffx^2
s^2 = (6-4)^2 + (5-1)^2 = 4 + 16
s^2 = 20
---------
G (5,1)
H (4,-4)
s^2 = (-4-1)^2 + (4-5)^2 = 25 + 1
s^2 = 26
Since the squares of the lengths are different, the lengths are different.
Note that the order doesn't matter when the differences are taken as they are squared. (-4)^2 is the same as 4^2.

diffy is usually stated first, tho the order is not relevant. This order is important in other calculations, tho, such as the slope of lines -
slope = diffy/diffx
