At a drag race, a jet car travels 1/4 mile in 5.2 seconds. What is the final speed of the car and its acceleration?
----------
1/4 mile = 1320 feet.
The average speed is 1320/5.2 =~ 253.846 ft/sec
Assuming uniform acceleration, the final speed is 2x that, = 507.692 ft/sec
------------
acceleration = 507.692/5.2 = 97.633 ft/sec/sec
