.

Let x be the height; then the base is (x-2)/2 meters.

The area equation is

     = 30.

Simplify and solve

    x*(x-2) = 120

    x^2 - 2x - 120 = 0

    (x-12)*(x+10) = 0

Of the two roots, 12 and -10, only x= 12 is positive and makes sense.

ANSWER. The height is 12 meters.
