Let "d" be one-way distance.


Then from the condition, you have this "speed" equation


     -  = 5  km/h.


Notice that both terms in the left side are the speeds.


To solve the equation, write it in the form


     -  = 5

     -  = 5


Next multiply both sides by  12


     16d - 15d = 60

       d       = 60.


ANSWER.  One way commute distance is 60 kilometers.
