y-axis symmetry: the equation is unchanged then you replace x with -x.
origin symmetry: the equation is unchanged when you replace x with -x AND y with -y.
In this example, replacing x with -x leaves the equation unchanged, because (-x)^2 = x^2.
In this example, replacing y with -y results in a different equation, x^2 -(-y) = 6, or x^2+y = 6.
