Question 1120429: Hi, a question from my work is a slight variation of the typical distance problem. It goes as follows
"A cat starts chasing a mouse from 10 metres away. The cat runs at a rate of 14 metres per second, and the mouse scampers at a rate of 4 metres per second. How many seconds will it take the cat to catch the mouse?"
I am used to questions that give you the delay between the two objects. However, this question does not provide that information, and I am confused as to how to find the time.
Thanks in advance

The cat is running 10 meters faster than the mouse per second and is 10 meters away. It will take a second, during which time the cat will have gone 14 meters and the mouse 4 meters.
