(5,1) and (-3,-1)
There are 8 units difference for x and 2 for y.
Each quarter is 2 units x and 1/2 unit y apart. They both go down from the first ordered pair or up from the second.
(3,0.5),(1,0)(-1,-0.5) are the intermediate points.
y=(1/4)x-(1/4)

Midpoint Pt(x,y): ( , )
(5 1) and
(-3 -1) halfway is (5+(-3))/2 and (1+ (-1))/2 Or C(1,0)
(5,1)
(1,0) halfway to center is(5+1)/2 and (1+0)/2 Or P(3,.5)
-3,-1) is
(1,0) halfway to center is (-3+1)/2 and (-1 + 0)/2 Or P(-1,-.5)
