Question 823649: If 4 times the reciprocal of a number is 3 more than 5/2 times the reciprocal of that number, find the number. *I am not even sure if i am setting up correctly so*
4(1/x)+3 > 5/2[4(1/x)]
Is this set up right or do I have it wrong? Also do check this problem do i choose any number to verify it? Are there any special tools that could help me?
Thank You,

, four times the reciprocal of the number x. That much was good.

" times the reciprocal of that number", too imprecise. WHAT number? Are you given enough to drop pronoun and put in what it really means?

Only my best guess, , Five-halves times the reciprocal of "that" number.

3 more than 5/2 times the reciprocal of that number, .

Best understanding is that your description takes the form of the equation,
and you want to solve the equation for x. Slightly simpler way to show this is

Hi,
4 times the reciprocal of a number is 3 more than 5/2 times the reciprocal of that number
write as we read: ('is' means = ), number is
|Multiplying thru by x so as all denominators = 1

3/2 = 3x
1/2 = x
CHECKING our answer*** x = 1/2, (it's reciprocal 2/1 )
