Question 771832: x+3/2-3 x+1/4=2(x-2)/3-2,then the value of x is
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+3/2-3 x+1/4=2(x-2)/3-2
(x + 3)/2 - (3x + 1)/4 = 2(x - 2)/3 - 2
Lowest Common Denominator = 12
6(x + 3) - 3(3x + 1) = 8(x - 2) - 24
6x + 18 - 9x - 3 = 8x - 16 - 24
Collect like terms:
6x - 9x - 8x = -16 - 24 - 18 + 3
- 11x = - 55
x = 5
Hope this helps.
