we are working on a problem that is x over 5 plus 6 equals 21 and we are stuck,
can you assist?
:
+ 6 = 21
:
Multiply equation by 5 and get rid of the denominator
+ 5(6) = 5(21)
:
you then have:
x + 30 = 105
:
Subtract 30 from both sides:
x + 30 - 30 = 105 - 30
x = 75
:
Check solution; substitute 75 for x in the original equation
+ 6 = 21
15 + 6 = 21
