Question 266242: Please help me in evaluating the following function or inverse; then write the ordered pair
f(x)=3x+1 and f^-1=(x-1)/3
f^-1(10)=
(? , ?)
Thank you so much.

f^(-1)(10)=(10-1)/3 just substitute the 10 by the x.
f^(-1)(10)=9/3=3
so the ordered pair is (3,10).
