Step 2. Then 7%2F2=a=y%2F8. Solving for y yields the following steps.

7%2F2=y%2F8

Multiply by 8 to both sides of the equation

8%2A7%2F2=8%2Ay%2F8

28=y

Step 3. ANSWER: y=28
