let x be the number.
(x-1) / 1/x =1
(x-1) *x=1
x^2-x=1
x^2-x-1=0
x^2-x =1
x^2-x+ 1/4=1+ 1/4
(x- 1/2)^2=5/4
x- 1/2=+-sqrt(5/4)
x=1/2+-sqrt(5)/2
x=(1+sqrt(5))/2, x=(1-sqrt(5))/2
