When you add and subtract fractions
you follow the same process.
First you must find the LCD(least common denominator: the lowest number that both numbers can go into)
ex: 1/2-1/4=
you know that two can go into four twice
cause 2*2=4
so 1/4 is gonna stay as is.
2/4-1/4=
you multiply 2 to both the numerator and denominator
then you subtract the numerator
keep in mind that both denominators stay the same.
2/4-1/4=1/4
Good luck!
