Question 100338: I have no idea how to solve this problem:
If y is inversely proportional to the square of x, and y=1 when x=4, find y when x=8.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If y is inversely proportional to the square of x
y = k/x^2
-------
and y=1 when x=4
1 = k/4^2
k= 16
-------------------
find y when x=8.
y = 16/x^2
y = 16/8^2
y = 1/4
