Question 151748: solve the linear inequality. 14 <= 3 - 4(x+8)
my answer i distributed 14 into what was in parenthesis and got 14x + 12.
then i did 3 and got 3x + 24.
then -4 and got -4x-32. the equation then was 14x + 12 <= 3x + 24 -4x -32.
i then ( starting from the right) subtracted -4x from 3x and got -x. then subtracted -32 from 24 and got -8.
then the equation was 14x + 12 <= -x -8.
i then canceled out -x by subtracting the opposite and added +x to 14x and got 15x.
the equation was 15x + 12 <= -8
then i subtracted the opposite of 12 from -8 and got -20.
the equation was 15x <= -20.
then divided everything by 15 and got x <= -0.75
