Question 108994: I could totall be overthinking this because I tend to do so, but can you please tell me if I am correct or understand the following. Trying to solve the inequality the absoulute value of b < = 8. I belive the answer is [-8,8] becuase obvisouly the 8 would be equal to the 8 but from every example i have seen like this the same # is always used as a negitive and I dont understand why (in this case the -8). Is this always the case or is there something I am missing or overthinking? Thank you kindly for your help :0) Click here to see answer by jim_thompson5910(28717)

Question 109120: I need help solving rational inequalities. I have to solve 4x/x+1 < -3x/x-6 algebraically using a number line and test points. I have to determine when f(x)=4x/x+1 is less than g(x)= -3x/x-6. I have tried to answer the question but my answer doesn't make any sense to me because I can't tell when f(x) is less than g(x) from when I solved the inequalitie algebraically using the method my teacher taught me.
