Question 984796: I have already done most of the work, I am just confused on how to write the answer. Here is what I'm working with:
"Solve the compound inequality. Write the solution in interval notation. If there is no solution, enter Ø."
4x+1>-3 AND 2x-1≥7
I got: x>-1 AND x≥4
But I'm not sure if I write it as (4,∞) or as [4,∞)

Answer by srinivas.g(540) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+1>-3 and 2x-1>7
4x>-4
x>-1 and x>4
so solution is x>4 as it includes (x>-1)
if we keep any value more than 4 in both of the equations, then they will stand valid
ex : let x = 5
4x+1>-3
21>-3 true
similarly 2x-1>7
9>7
true
hence solution is x should be more than or equal to 4
solution is [4,infinity)

"[" because you're including the point 4.
With the left parenthesis, you'd be saying don't include the point 4.
