Question 893808: (40x+39)(74x-23) is equal to or less than 0. What is the interval notation?
Answer by algebriac(10)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(40x+39)(74x-23) <= 0
This means either (40x+39)is less than 0 or (74x-23) is less than 0 but not both.
40x+39 <=0 & (74x-23) >=0
40x <= -39 & 74x >=23
x<=-39/40 & x >=23/74
this is not a feasible solution.
(74x-23) <=0 & 40x+39 >=0
74x <= 23 & 40x >=-39
X<= 23/74 & X>= -39/40
Hence the interval for X is : -39/40 <= X <= 23/74
