Question 855968: 5<2-3y<14 What is the solution?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5 < 2-3y < 14

5-2 < -3y < 14-2 ... Subtract 2 from all sides.

3 < -3y < 10

3/(-3) > y > 10/(-3) ... Divide all sides by -3. See Note below

-1 > y > -10/3

-10/3 < y < -1

Note: dividing all sides by a negative number will flip the inequality signs.
