Question 805680: I have a math problem that says 1=3+n/8 and it gives you the answer of -16 and you have to show the work I have tried and -16/8=-2 so that makes the problem 1=3+-2 but 3+-2=-1 not 1 did I mess up or was it a typo??? please help ASAP Answer by AnlytcPhil(1807) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 = 3 +
Add -3 to both sides
1 = 3 +
-3 -3
--------------------
-2 =
Multiply both sides by 8
-16 = n
To check, substitute (-16) for n in the original
equation:
1 = 3 +
1 = 3 +
1 = 3 + (-2)
1 = 3 - 2
1 = 1
