Subtract 4 from both sides
-3|m+2| > -14 - 4
-3|m+2| > -18
Divide both sides by -3, this changes the signs and reverses the inequality sign
+1|m+2| < +6
Remove the absolutes, solve two equation
m + 2 < 6
m < 6 - 2
m < 4
and
m + 2 > -6; reverse the inequality sign
m > - 6 -2
m > -8
