Question 778275: How do I solve -19x+1 > (or equal to) -20x-4>-9x+18
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

-19x+1 > (or equal to) -20x-4>-9x+18

Make three inequalities:

-19x+1 > -20x-4 -20x-4 > -9x+18 -19x+1 > -9x+18
     x > -5 -11x > 22 -9x > 17
                         x < -2 x < -1 8/9

The third one is not necessary since the second one guarantess it.

Turn the first one around

-5 > x and put it together with x < -2

and get

        -5 < x < -2
