To solve this inequality, we just solve the problem as if it was written with and = than a <.
1) solve for x
4-16x<-13 *subtract 4 from both sides
0-16x<-13-4 ----->-16x<-17
-16x<-17 * divide -16 from both sides to isolate x.
1x<17/16 IMPORTANT, YOU MAY THINK THAT THIS SI THE CORRECT ANSWER, BUT YOU MUST FLIP THE INEQUALITY SIGN IF YOU DIVIDE BY A NEGATIVE NUMBER.
SO THE ACTUAL ANSWER IS :x>17/16 (notice that the sign "is less than" is flipped to "is greater than"
