SOLUTION: Solve for x: -10(x-3.0) >/= 4(4.7-x)
When I did this I got: x >/= 1.867. But the right answer was actually: x </= 1.867... Why is it that the sign changed? I don't get it....

Answer by josgarithmetic(39613) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You simply made a sign mistake or you forgot a rule about multiplying an inequality by a negative number. The correct answer is
First step is
was divided by 2 on both sides.
And for earlier convenience a multiplication by NEGATIVE 1.
NOTICE the changed direction of the the order.
The remaining steps are omitted here knowing that you seemed to show as much skill as needed since the numeral shown in your description was correct.
