x+2 is less or equal to 6
and
-2x is less than 10

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a compound inequality:
x+2 is less or equal to 6
and
-2x is less than 10
Rewrite the wo equations and solve each one separately:
--------------
x+2<=6
Subtract 2 from each side to get:
x<=4
-----------
-2x<10
Divide both sides by -2 ; this reverses the inequality.
x>-5
-------------------
Combining the inequalities you get:
-5<= x <=4
