Question 670774: completely factor: 16a^3 -2b^3
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
16a^3 -2b^3
2(8a^3 -b^3)
2((2a)^3 -b^3)
2((2a -b)((2a)^2 + (2a)*(b) + (b)^2) ... Use the difference of cubes factoring rule here
2(2a -b)(4a^2 + 2ab + b^2)
So 16a^3 -2b^3 completely factors to 2(2a -b)(4a^2 + 2ab + b^2)
