Question 644652: Use the multiplication property of inequalities to solve the inequality. Graph the solution set.
1/4x≥-7/8
I think the answer is x≥-7/2 but am not positive, nor do I know how to graph the solution set. I would appreciate any help, as I need to show my work on this too.

Use the multiplication property of inequalities to solve the inequality. Graph the solution set.
1/4x≥-7/8
-----
Multiply both sides by 4 to get:
x >= 4(7/8)
---
x >= 7/2
---
x >= 3.5
================
Draw a number-line.
Plot the value x = 3.5 on the line.
Put a solid circle at that point on the line.
Sketch an arrow from that point to the right.
The point and the arrow comprise the graph of x >= 3.5

You're correct, as
On the number line, place a CLOSED circle above or below the point , or
If you test to the left of that point, say - 4, the inequality will be FALSE.
If you test to the right of that point, say - 3, the inequality will be TRUE.
Therefore, you graph a VERY HEAVY-WEIGHTED ARROW from the point , pointing to the right.
