Farmer Ray has an irrigation system on his farm. He opens the water pumps for periods of 10 minutes each. The amount of water he lets out every 10 minutes must be less than 5,000 gallons. If he uses the inequality 10X - 500 < 5,000 to determine the maximum number of gallons of water that flow out in a 10 minute period, what is X?
A. X < 500
B X < 550
C. X > 500
D. X > 5,000
