There are 786 pupils at a school. There are 137 more girls than boys. How many girls and boys are there?
The simple answer is that this statement is false, but maybe I am missing something? Show your solution as well .

twice the number of boys must be an even number

the number of "more" girls is odd, so the total number of students must be odd

something is amiss ___ the parity of the numbers in the problem is incorrect
